Background

A Colorado native; Rachel was born and raised in Arvada Colorado.  A tomboy by nature, Rachel grew up climbing trees, catching frogs and playing every sport her older brother did.  This included 12 years of competitive soccer, swim team, and mogul skiing.

The importance of education was instilled at an early age, and ultimately led Rachel to the University of Colorado Boulder, where she received her Bachelors degree in 2003.

It was in college that Rachel developed her passion for weight lifting.  She never hired a personal trainer, but instead observed others in the weight room hoping to mimic proper technique. That’s how she learned the basic bicep curl….and the rest is history.

Competitions

Having never been to, or even seen a figure competition, Rachel sent in her entry to the NPC Northern Colorado in April of 2008, where she placed 1st in her class. Two months later she competed in the Colorado State, and placed 2nd.

Two weeks later she packed her bags and drove 14 hours to Las Vegas for the NPC Nationals.  Knowing full well that she was a complete underdog, Rachel surprised everyone and cinched 1st place in her class and thereby earned her Pro Card.

Her speedy rise to the top was truly unique and before she knew it she was spreading her wings (or should we say lats) at the 2009 Orlando Pro. Rachel took 8th place in her professional debut, proving to herself and others that she belongs on this stage.  Stay tuned, Rachel has lots in store.

Rachel trains at Armbrust Pro Gym with NPC National Bodybuilder- Dylan Armbrust.

Occupation

Rachel currently lives in Denver, and works pharmaceutical sales as a cardiovascular sales specialist.  She loves her job, and spends a majority of her time on the road.  When she’s not visiting doctors all over the state of Wyoming, she’s usually spending time with family and friends.

Other
Rachel has a weakness for stilettos and a guilty pleasure for tabloids.  She loves diet coke, the smell of new tires, and will drink pickle juice straight from the jar; despite her mother’s dissuasion.

She hates traffic, refuses to eat celery, is a horrible parallel parker, and still sleeps with her favorite stuffed dog named NOG.
